Calling all photographers!
The Baldwinsville Messenger and Beaver Lake Nature Center are teaming once again up to bring you our annual Celebrate Fall Photo Contest. Beaver Lake is one of Baldwinsville’s most beautiful sites, and we want you to help us capture its beauty. The contest period will run from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31.
We will not be accepting submissions from professional photographers. A professional photographer is defined, for the purposes of this contest, as anyone who makes money selling their work.
A panel of judges will select the top 10 entries from all submissions during the first two weeks of November. From there, those entries will be posted on the Messenger’s social media pages during the first two weeks of November, where our readers will select the top three photos. First, second and third place winners will receive prizes to be announced at a later date. Photos will be judged based on creativity, composition, artistic merit and overall impact.
There is no entry fee, and there is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant.
The contest begins Sept. 1 and ends Oct. 31. All submissions must be received by the Messenger by 11:59 p.m. Oct. 31. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected]. All submissions must include your name, email address, a phone number and a photo caption.
Photographs must be in high-resolution digital format. Only emailed entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of photographic prints are acceptable. Photos must measure 4 inches by 6 inches at a resolution of 300 dpi.
All photos must be taken at Beaver Lake Nature Center, and all photos must have been taken within the contest period. Please do not submit date stamped, watermarked or heavily edited/altered photos.
