The past year has been a great one for movies, and we’ll be showing some of the best as they are released.
See Viola Davis’s Academy Award-winning performance in “Fences” (rated PG-13) at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, and again at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Adapted from the play of the same name, “Fences” tells the story of a working-class African-American father trying to raise his family in the 1950s, while coming to terms with the events of his life.
If you haven’t signed up for Hoopla yet, come to our Wired Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. March 29. Julia teaches you how to access the library’s newest resource for videos, ebooks, audiobooks, comics and music albums. Come find out how you can access these materials with no cost to you (and no holds list).
At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, the delightful Anna Perun of Ukrainian Treasures will be at BPL! She will teach a three-hour workshop on how to paint Ukrainian eggs, or pysanky. She will provide materials and eggs and get you started; you can finish it at home before Easter. This program fills quickly and space is limited, so register soon at (315) 635-5631.
