Lily Buchholz, Alice Spaulding and Rory Comer would each claim individual races for the Skaneateles girls swim team as it took a 95-86 defeat to Christian Brothers Academy last Thursday night at the Le Moyne College pool.
Buchholz again proved impressive in the 100-yard backstroke, her time of one minute, 5.31 seconds of the quickest of the season and more than three seconds ahead of the Brothers’ Ally Howard (1:08.60) in the runner-up spot.
Earlier in the meet, Spaulding, as she swam in the 200 freestyle, put up a time of 2:11.48, easily clear of CBA’s Katelyn Wendt, who was second in 2:13.74.
Comer had to wait until the 100 breaststroke to earn an individual as she needed 1:17.30 to hold off the Brothers’ Anna Nizar (1:17.55) for that top spot.
Skanetaeles also was victorious in the 200 freestyle relay, where Buchholz and Comer, joined by Elizabeth Springer and Grace King, would post 1:51.30 to beat CBA, who could only manage 1:52.73.
In 26.32 seconds, Buchholz was second to CBA’s Kaitlyn Bushnell (26.14), while King was second in the 500 freestyle in 5:57.69 and Lili Winkelman was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:36.76.
Carlee Pitman accumulated 168.65 points in diving, putting her second behind the Brothers’ Karrina Pullano (183.60 points). This came right before Springer was second (1:13.50) to Howard (1:11.51) in the 100 butterfly.
Just two meets remain in the regular season for the Lakers, who are off until an Oct. 17 visit from West Genesee.
