Tanner Mento and Jarrod Williams needed to be sharp for the Baldwinsville boys bowling team as it fought past Syracuse City in a 3-0 decision during last Tuesday afternoon’s season opener at B’ville Sports Bowl.
Steady throughout his three games, Mento accumulated a 643 series with no game higher than 234. Williams nearly matched that high game with a 228 on his way to a 627 set as Tanner Rozycko’s 205 led to a three-game total of 579.
To counter it, Syracuse saw Isaiah Days shoot a 654 series, but no one else on his squad was close to that series as teammates Jahquell Maynor and Joe Lee both finished with 532 series, Maynor getting a 191 high game and Lee a 188 high game.
Then B’ville traveled to Solvay Recreation Alley on Thursday afternoon to face West Genesee. The boys Bees won, 3-0, over the Wildcats, to make it two wins in as many matches.
Rozycko led the way this time, his steady 615 series including no game better than 211, while Mento shot a 222 game during a 573 set. Dave Neri paced the Wildcats with a 528 series and 200 high game.
In the girls Bees’ 3-0 defeat to West Genesee, Brooke Flask had the top individual series of 473 (174 high game) and Taylor Savage’s 171 led to a three-game total of 457. Hannah Pinard added a 375 set as the Wildcats got a 431 series from Gina Neri, a 418 series from Maddy Lux and 406 series from Katie Drogo, plus had more depth.
B’ville’s teams face Cicero-North Syracuse at Strike-N-Spare Lanes and Liverpool at Flamingo Bowl this week.
