There will be a winter exhibit of art sponsored by Cazenovia Arts beginning on February 1. Stop in during Winter Festival to check it out. Free admission. The exhibition is open during library hours.
3 to 8 p.m. — Family Ice Skating, Burton Street Skating Rink. Weather Permitting
7 p.m. — Snow Drawing Slide Show at Common Grounds (35 Albany St.). Come view images of artist Sonja Hinrichsen’s previous snow drawing events and learn how you can be a participant in Saturday’s event at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park.
Friday, Feb. 9

7 to 9 p.m. — Winter Festival Talent Show and Opening Ceremony, Cazenovia High School Auditorium. Organized by Project CAFE. Tickets $5 at the door. Proceeds to fund student scholarships. Crowning of King and Queen. Refreshments available at intermission.
Saturday, Feb. 10
7 a.m. to noon. — Pancake Breakfast at American Legion, Chenango Street. Cazenovia Post 88 will sponsor a pancake, sausage, bacon and egg breakfast accompanied by NY maple syrup, orange juice, coffee and tea.
9 a.m. to noon — Scholastic Snow Sculpture Construction, Memorial Park area, Albany Street. Judging at noon. Theme: Animals – if snow conditions allow.
Morning to 12:30 p.m. — Community Snow Sculpture Competition, throughout the village. Families, community groups or businesses may participate. List of sculptures posted at Common Grounds. Pre-register at 655-9380.

Noon to 3 p.m. — Snow Drawings, hosted by Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, as inspired by artist Sonja Hinrichsen. Tickets $5 for adults and include a free pint from Empire Farm Brewery for those 21 and over. Snowshoes available to rent. All ages and abilities welcome. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Purchase tickets online at sqhap.org/snowdrawings. Event is weather permitting, alternative date to be posted on SQHAP website and Facebook if needed.
Noon to 2 p.m. — Horse Drawn Wagon Rides by “Telephone Park,” 35 Albany Street. Free rides around the Cazenovia Village. Sponsored by the Cazenovia Rotary Club. Donations to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library will be welcomed.

1:30 to 3 p.m. — Library Chocolate Party: Chocolate Olympics, at the Cazenovia Public Library. Families are invited to the Cazenovia Public Library for stories and hands-on activities related to the Winter Olympics. Events will feature chocolate and candy. Hosted by the Friends of the Library. 7 to 9 p.m. — Owl Prowl – Sponsored by Cazenovia Preservation Foundation. The month of February brings mating season for several local species of owl, making it a great time to hear their calls. Follow nature educator Fred von Mechow of NY Parks and Rec on a guided night hike through the woods of the Burlingame Trail system. Meet at the Burlingame Road trail head.
