Cazenovia — Cazenovia College has announced two upcoming holiday events for the community. A Cazenovia College Chorale concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the Catherine Cummings Theatre at 16 Lincklaen St. The chorale, composed of students and members of the Cazenovia community, will perform “Six German Folk Songs” by Johannes Brahms, selections from Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” as well as traditional holiday music. The performance, directed by Peter Ciarelli with William Verity on piano, is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Cazenovia College at 655-7106.
Then on Friday, Dec. 4, in conjunction with the Village of Cazenovia’s 38th Annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Walk, the Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, located at 6 Sullivan St., will be the site of the Sixth Annual Arts and Crafts Fair from 4:30 to 8 p.m. The fair, led by Dorian Kemp, a senior studio art major, and Patricia Talamo, a junior studio art and photography major, will display the unique handmade creations of Cazenovia College students, faculty and staff. Holiday shoppers are welcome to browse a variety of glass, pottery, fiber works, paintings, photographs, ornaments and jewelry while enjoying free hot cocoa.
“Since 2010, the event has been a very successful venue to showcase our student and employee creativity to the broader community. For many people, it is the first time that they have visited the gallery and seen the array of talent we have on campus,” says Jen Pepper, associate professor of art and gallery director.
