To the editor:
I am writing in enthusiastic support of Kelly Fumarola as a candidate for the Fayetteville-Manlius School Board.
I have known Kelly as a neighbor and friend for eight years. Kelly and her family are engaged in our community — supporting local businesses, serving local government and volunteering in our schools. I often look to Kelly for insights on topics concerning our village and schools.
Kelly Fumarola has been deeply involved in the schools since her oldest daughter entered kindergarten. She quickly got involved with the Fayetteville Elementary HSA, and has chaired numerous committees and served as both co-vice president and president of the HSA. She implemented a new funding strategy that made HSA-sponsored events more accessible to all school families. This demonstrates her understanding of the diverse needs of our district, and her ability to identify a problem and find a creative solution to solve it.
Kelly has also served on the F-M Parent Council and the F-M Facilities Task Force. She has worked tirelessly to understands the needs of the schools, families, and community members in the important and difficult facilities issues that face our district. She takes time to understand the issues from different viewpoints, and is able to communicate complex problems to others in a clear and thoughtful way.
Kelly Fumarola would be an asset to the Fayetteville-Manlius School Board. Our community, teachers, and children would benefit from her insights and dedication.
