Get thee to a library or bookstore! Starting in April, the Clay Senior Center will host a monthly Cozy Murder Mystery Book Club.
The book club will meet at 1 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month. The club kicks off April 23 with “Death Bee Comes Her” by Nancy Coco.
“Death Bee Comes Her” is the first in Coco’s new “Oregon Honeycomb” series.
What is a cozy mystery?
The cozy mystery usually takes place in a small town or village, starring an amateur sleuth. The small size of the setting makes it believable that all the suspects know each other.
The amateur sleuth is usually a very likable person who is able to get the community members to talk freely about each other.
There is usually at least one very knowledgeable and nosy (and of course, very reliable!) character in the book who is able to fill in all of the blanks, thus enabling the amateur sleuth to solve the case.
The Clay Senior Center is located at 4948 Route 31. For more information about the Cozy Murder Mystery Book Club or other programs for Clay seniors, contact Chrissy Clancy at 315-652-3800 ext. 137.
