On Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, the village of Baldwinsville, along with the Baldwinsville Fire Department, will be holding their annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony and Parade of Lights event.
The Parade of Lights will begin at the corner of Oswego Street (Route 48) and Smokey Hollow Road traveling north to Artillery Lane. The route will then go down Artillery Lane to W. Oneida Street, where the participants will turn and head east. Once reaching Oswego Street, they will turn south and head towards the Four Corners (the intersection of Oswego and Genesee Streets), passing through that intersection. The tree lighting ceremony will take place in the Village Square directly following the completion of the parade.
Due to these events, traffic and parking will be impacted in several ways:
No parking on Oswego Street between Genesee Streets and Elizabeth Street will be allowed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
The “Four Corners” area of the village will be completely closed to all traffic from approximately 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Alternate routes must be utilized and no traffic will be allowed through that intersection, with exception of parade participants.
While the Parade of Lights is traveling on Artillery Lane and West Oneida Street, those streets will be closed to regular vehicular traffic.
During the time period where the Four Corners is closed:
- • All East Genesee Street traffic will be re-routed onto Virginia Street
- • All West Genesee Street traffic will be re-routed onto River Street
- • All Northbound Syracuse Street traffic will be re-routed onto Tappan Street
- • All Southbound Oswego Street traffic will be re-routed onto E. Oneida Street
- • Elizabeth Street will be closed between Oswego and Virginia Streets
