With her family at her side, Doris C. (Nolan) Fryba, 84, passed away on Jan. 11, 2022, after a brief illness. Doris was born in New York City, where she spent her early years and met and married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry, her devoted husband of 64 years. She is survived by her loving husband, and three daughters, Lori Winderl (Tim), Celene Uczen (Chris) and Linda Ploch (Matt). Doris adored her nine grandchildren, Joseph, Nolan, Toni Marie, Rosalee, Abby, Sophia, Noah, Sara and Ryan. She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Evelyn Nolan and her brother Tommy Nolan.
She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and dedication to her family. Throughout the years, Doris enjoyed roles in community theater, judging high school gymnastics, worked for Marcellus schools, and co-owned the Cedar Pine Restaurant and Campgrounds in Osceola, N.Y., with Jerry. In her later years, she joyfully was the number one fan at her grandchildren’s events and celebrations.
Doris will be dearly missed by those who shared her warm hugs and smiles that she brought to every occasion. Services will be private. Donations are appreciated in her name to The Fresh Air Fund, 633 3rd Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
