John A. Popek of St. Cloud, Fla., died peacefully at home on April 22, 2019, at the age of 95. He was born in McKeesport, PA. John and his wife Eugenia were longtime residents of New Woodstock before retiring to St. Cloud Florida in 1985. John worked as a quality control engineer at Carrier Corporation in Syracuse for many years in addition to running the family farm in New Woodstock.
Surviving are son Richard Popek, Mechanicville, N.Y.; daughters Karen Madden, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Pam McClimans, Daytona Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah Lieberman, Fred McClimans V and Jake McClimans; and two great grandchildren, Norah Lieberman and Vanessa Lieberman. John joins his beloved wife Eugenia; mother and father Tekla and William; sister Kate and brothers Andy, Carl and Tom in eternal peace. A memorial service will be held at Fisk Funeral Home in St. Cloud on May 22, 2019.
