Millie Fontanella passed away on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2017. Coincidentally, that was her favorite night of the year. Millie has lived in Skaneateles for the past 60 years. In 1969 she began employment at SCS. Millie thoroughly enjoyed her work, and it was there that she met her lifelong friend, Betty Edmunds.
Upon retirement, Millie and Vic split their time living in both Skaneateles and Florida for 20 years.
At 92 years of age, Millie was very independent and chose to remain in her beloved home. She was grateful for the many friends who would often drop by to visit with her. In many ways Millie was an extended “Mother” to all.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Lorraine Bates (John Martin) of Northbridge, MA, and Patti (Lance) Burghardt of Skaneateles. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Victor.
