Marian Elizabeth O’Kane (nee Hance) “Bette”, 96, from Surf City, NJ, and Cazenovia, passed away on Sept. 29, 2016. She received her Master’s degree in Education from Syracuse University. She taught third grade at Cazenovia Central School for 20 years. [Green Street and Burton Street.] She always remembered and enjoyed all of her students. She moved from Cazenovia in 1989, and Bette and Roger would spend their time equally in their Fort Myers, FL and Long Beach Island homes. She enjoyed art, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. O’Kane was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Roger J. O’Kane, III. Surviving are her three children, Tina, Roger IV and Kevin, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
