Stanley Joseph Pokrentowski, 88, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Born in Syracuse on Oct. 7, 1927, he served as an aviation electrician’s mate in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1949.
Stanley worked for New Process Gear, Syracuse, as an electrician, and UAW local 624 as the financial secretary of retirees for 30 years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Church, Phoenix, N.Y. and the Jayco camping club.
Predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Bottino; his sisters, Josephine, Sophie, Helen, Jenny, Regina and Mary Jane.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Anna May (Soluske) Pokrentowski; two sons, Stephen (Mary), Ronald (Tammy); three daughters, Sharon Davis, Donna (Richard) Korte, and Susan Manning; his 14 grandchildren, Frank, Chris, Kari, Steven, Jason, Brian, Joshua, Trevor, Marshall, Cooper, Denise, Michele, Joseph and Anthony; his brother-in-law, Richard (Linda) Soluske; and several nieces, nephews.
Calling hours: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, N.Y. Prayers were offered at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. on Monday. Funeral Mass was held in St. Stephen’s Church, 469 Main St., Phoenix, with the Rev. Philip Brockmyre officiating. Entombment followed in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum, 8668 Co. Rt. 57, Baldwinsville, with U.S. Navy honors offered. “Keep Smiling.”
