Robin Lutzy McLennan, 78 of Skaneateles passed away Friday April 22, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Syracuse to the late William and Marjorie Lutzy, she graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in applied sciences and music education. She was also a lifelong Syracuse University sports fan. Robin was a member of the Skaneateles Country Club and was a former two-year president of the Skaneateles Women’s Golf Association. She was also the first woman to become a member of the Skaneateles Lions Club and was their first woman president, where she received the Melvin Jones Award for service to humanity including eye care missions to Nicaragua.
Robin is survived by her husband of 60 years James; sons Brad (Joni) of Skaneateles and Todd (Julie) of Marcellus. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Patrick, Elizabeth and Jamie as well as a sister Merrilee Jones of Maryland.
A memorial service for Robin will be held , at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 7at Skaneateles First Presbyterian Church. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. Following there will be a reception at the Skaneateles Country Club for friends and family. Calling hours on the family from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles.
