To the editor:
On Nov. 7, residents in the North Syracuse and Clay areas have an opportunity to elect new leadership to serve in the Onondaga County Legislature. Stefanie Heath will bring this new, exciting and dynamic leadership. Her goal is to be visible in the community, so her constituents will be encouraged to discuss perceived needs, so she can better serve you. She supports policies that will bring jobs that will attract people and welcome families to Central New York.
In 1960, John F. Kennedy asked each of us to make our country a better place to live and bring up our families. Stefanie possesses that same positive spirit. Her energy and enthusiasm will unite us to work together.
Stefanie advocates for the middle class to make sure corporations pay their fair share. She will create well-paying jobs through cooperative economic strategies between city and county. More importantly, she will increase government transparency and stand up to corruption.
Did you know that the present legislator in the 14th district: Voted against a tax cut? Voted against the veterans’ legal clinic at SU that assists veterans who are having financial or family problems? Voted against 3- and 4-year-old early child literacy programs? Voted against the public safety budget?
“It’s time for a new generation of leadership. For there is a new world to be won.” This quote came from John F. Kennedy at a time when our country was ready for a positive change. Please join me to elect Stefanie Heath from the 14th Legislative District, who will work hard to engage each of us to accept the challenge to become involved in positive change to benefit our families in our local communities.
