Baldwinsville — To the editor:
To my friends in Lysander:
Happy New Year and thank you for the opportunity to continue representing you on the legislature. I’m pleased to report that I will once again be serving on the Ways & Means Committee and as chairman of Public Safety.
Over the last year, the legislature has been confronted by many controversial issues that have produced broadly-varied results. Our best work held taxpayers at the forefront, such as our effort to produce the lowest county property tax levy since the late 1980s.
Unfortunately, the results were less than ideal whenever politics and political agendas were allowed to taint the legislative process. We need to remember this is only local government—public service to our neighbors and friends in the community! It’s not Albany and certainly not DC.
In 2016, I will continue to do my best to keep the nonsense from the business of county taxpayers. If I can ever help, please don’t hesitate to call and thank you again for the privilege of being your legislator.
