MARCELLUS — Baltimore Woods Nature Center is seeking individuals, families, and teams to celebrate the beauty of the autumn season by running or walking in the 6th annual 5K Run for The Woods between now and Oct. 6 in support of Baltimore Woods Nature Center in their work to steward over six miles of trails on the preserve and deliver year-round environmental education programming for all ages.
The Run for The Woods will again be a virtual event where individuals and families or teams can sign up and commit to running or walking at the time and place that works best for them.
For those looking for a challenging trail run or who prefer to recreate on the preserve, there is an optional 5K course available at Baltimore Woods Nature Center for participants to enjoy.
Participants can upload their times and compete for great prizes, which will be awarded to the fastest individual runners and walkers as well as the fastest families or teams that take on the Baltimore Woods trail run course or those who participate off-site.
The race is sponsored by Headlining Partner Doug’s Fish Fry of Skaneateles, the Central New York Community Foundation, KeyBank, and Dr. Vance’s Family Chiropractic. All proceeds directly benefit Baltimore Woods Nature Center in providing high-quality environmental education and stewarding the 182-acre Baltimore Woods preserve for the Central New York region.
The event is running now through Oct. 6.
Race times must be submitted by midnight Oct. 6 to be considered for prizes.
Cost is $30/individual walker or runner, $85/family or team.
