Skaneateles YMCA and Community center announces tentative reopening plans

The Skaneateles YMCA and Community Center is pleased to announce that it is preparing to re-open its doors once fitness facilities are allowed to re-open.

New protocols, as per the CDC, Health Department and YMCA of the USA, will be in place both prior to admittance to the facility and once inside.

Daily health screening and temperature checks, physical distancing, use of masks in common areas, sanitizing of equipment, surfaces and hands will be among the required protocols for all staff and members.

Reservations will be required for all parts of the facility as there will be reduced capacity in all areas.

Starting June 29, the SYCC will offer group exercise classes outside, in addition to those classes that are being offered virtually.

The Duke Ice Arena is tentatively scheduled to open July 6 for individual use only. The SYCC day camp program will also start on June 29, with limited enrollment and safety protocols as required by the NYS Department of Health. The competition pool will open on Thursday, July 2.

The SYCC will re-open in stages to ensure the safety of members and staff. Stage 1 hours of operation is as follows: Monday – Thursday, 5:30am -7pm, Friday 5:30am – 6pm and Saturday 7am – noon. The Y will only be open to members.
