Marcellus ranked in top 10 of Syracuse-area school districts
Marcellus Central School District has been ranked No. 6 out of the 53 Syracuse-area school districts and in the 93rd percentile of all Upstate New York school districts by Buffalo-based Business First magazine. The rankings are based on the latest four years of test results and graduation rates available from the New York State Education Department.
Business First analyzed the academic records of 431 Upstate school districts this year, based on a broad range of test data from the New York State Education Department. Each district’s rank reflects the collective performance of its elementary, middle and high schools from 2015 to 2018, the most recent four-year period for which comprehensive statistics are available.
The rankings for the Syracuse area encompass 54 school districts in Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego and Tompkins counties. (Districts with fewer than 200 students and/or without high schools have been excluded.
Marcellus ranked 29th out of all 431 Upstate school districts.
