People moving to a new town often find it difficult to meet new people or learn about their new community, which is why Common Grounds created the Welcoming New Cazenovians event. The monthly meeting has connected a variety of people over the past six months — including those new to the area, those who have lived in Cazenovia for a significant length of time and those who have recently returned having lived in distant places.
“This event is a casual opportunity for members of the community to gather in Common Grounds to discuss living in Cazenovia while sitting by the fire and enjoying the coffee house menu,” said Lori Lewis, director at Common Grounds. “The turnout has varied month to month, and look we look forward each meeting to making new introductions.”
Welcoming New Cazenovians is held the third Thursday of each month at Common Grounds. It was previously held on a different day, but the event was rescheduled to allow attendees to enjoy the atmosphere of the newly opened Common Grounds Coffee House, which is open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. The coffee house offers a menu including paninis, smoothies, coffee drinks, pastries and more.
