Patchwork Plus Quilt & Yarn Shop sponsors a Knit-In to benefit the Syracuse Samaritan Center
Patchwork Plus Quilt & Yarn Shop will sponsor a Knit-In at the Marcellus Library, 32 Maple Street, Marcellus, on Monday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to knit hats for the Samaritan Center.
Patchwork Plus will donate all the yarn and patterns for the hats.
Area knitters are invited to bring their knitting needles (size 6 to 8) and come for an hour or two or bring their lunch and stay all day. We will see how many hats we can knit in one marathon knitting session.
At their first Knit In on Feb. 8, 2016, 58 knitters gathered to knit hats and 155 hats were delivered to the Samaritan Center.
The Samaritan Center, located at 215 N State Street in Syracuse offers hot meals 365 days a year without preconditions or questions, serving more than 114,000 meals annually. The Center also provides direct case management as well as on-site access to information about and referrals to services and programs in the community of interest to its guests – services which provide resources, hope and opportunity for a better future.
