Camillus resident Michael Luber joins OCWA board
Michael J. Luber, a home builder/contractor and long-time resident of the Town of Camillus, recently joined the five-member Board of OCWA—Central New York’s Water Authority.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be a part of such a vital and well-run organization as OCWA,” Luber said. “There are few more important governmental services than providing safe, reliable water to our residents. I look forward to working with the 140+ dedicated employees of OCWA to accomplish our vision of being Central New York’s water purveyor of choice.”
Luber has been involved in the home building and remodeling industry for 42 years.
He is presently President and CEO of Luber Associates, Inc. – a full service residential contracting company providing a wide range of services from minor house repairs to major renovations.
The company was established in 1996. In January of 2000, he earned the designation of Certified Graduate Remodelor (CGR) from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelors Council. CGR recognizes those remodelors who demonstrate exceptional business integrity, technical competence, and a solid track record of customer satisfaction.
Luber is also the owner of two additional business ventures.
Royal Oak Builders was established in 2002 – another full-service custom home building company operating throughout Onondaga County.
In 1992, he began a rental property company under the name Madison Properties – providing convenient and affordable housing to residents in the Town of Camillus.
Luber is a volunteer member of The Friends of Camillus Park, an organization working hand in hand with the Town of Camillus Parks and Recreation Department to maintain and improve the 35 acre park.
He is also an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks at the Camillus Lodge #2367.
He resides in Camillus with his wife Mary, of 27 years, and has 2 daughters – Abagail and Katherine.
In 1985, Michael received a bachelor of science degree from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science & Forestry in Syracuse, N.Y., in Wood Products Engineering with a minor in marketing.
OCWA was established by act of the New York State Legislature in 1951 and currently serves 340,000 residents in Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Cayuga and Oneida counties.
The Authority is one of the 100 largest water systems in the country, operating over 2,000 miles of water main, 55 storage facilities and 42 pump stations.
