DeWitt — Christian Brothers Academy students have been busy spreading holiday cheer.
On Monday, Dec. 21, students in Peer Ministry delivered more than 300 gifts of toys and clothing to children in the Cab Horse Day Care Program at the Salvation Army. The children were thrilled to see Santa Claus (senior Sam Vercillo). The students played games, read and worked on arts and crafts with the children. Each classroom at the daycare posed with Santa and his helpers. Students in every homeroom at CBA, faculty and staff participated in this annual gift giving Advent Project.
Students in Peer Ministry hosted a Christmas party for the kindergarten classes at Seymour Elementary on Friday, Dec. 18. Almost 100 children sang songs, listened to the story of Rudolph, assisted the children with an arts and craft project, and received a visit from Santa (junior Jace Whelan), who handed out goody bags for the children. CBA Class of 2005 graduate Sheila (Cantanzarita) O’Malley is a faculty member at Seymour and arranges for CBA to visit the school to read to the younger children on a regular basis.
Earlier this month, students made Christmas decorations and decorated the Francis House and the Salvation Army.
