Paul Restante, resident of Manlius and managing director of Community Bank Wealth Management Group, has been named to the top spot of Bank Investment Consultant magazine’s list of the nation’s top 20 program managers. Restante is feature on the cover of the May 2015 print edition of the publication. “I’m glad, but it’s not me, it’s the program and people I work with that helped make this happen,” said Restante. “I’ve always enjoyed being in financial services because of the positive impact we have on clients by delivering a needed and important service every day.” The list, which Restante has appeared on before — although never in the top position — takes into account six criteria, including growth of team assets, growth of team annual production, average production per advisor, number of full-time advisors the program manager directly supervises and the number of licensed branch employees under their supervision. Restante has been with Community Bank since 2010 and has served as the managing director for Community Bank Wealth Management Group, assisting individuals and business owners with investments, insurance and trust services. Restante is a graduate of Clarkson University, where he majored in marketing and finance. Restante said after college, he was in the insurance business for 20 years, but moved to financial services in 2003 when he was recruited to manage the brokerage program at HSBC bank in Syracuse. “We couldn’t be more proud of Paul,” said Scott Kingsley, Community Bank’s chief financial officer. “This list goes from coast to coast, and the fact that both he and our program were singled out is a huge accomplishment.” Restante said he enjoys working within Community Bank because he is allowed a lot of flexibility and support from the CFO and president of the company. “It’s a great and noble business, but like anything else with a high opportunity for success, you have to work hard,” Restante said. “If you do it right, the more you can work with clients and have a better outcome … you need to have a strong commitment to do the right thing.” Hayleigh Gowans is a reporter for the Eagle Bulletin.
