Magee honored for 50 years of service with Erieville Fire Department

The Nelson Town Board last week honored Erieville firefighter Bob Magee for his milestone of 50 years of service with the Erieville Fire Department, and presented him a plaque in commemoration of the achievement. The board also applauded Jane Magee, Bob’s wife, for her 38 years of service with the EFD, and for the fact that she was the first female firefighter in Madison County.

“I applaud them for their service and thank them for their friendship,” said Joe DeFrancisco, Madison County emergency services coordinator, who presented the plaque to Bob Magee at the Nelson Town Board’s June 12 meeting. “They truly are a remarkable story.”

The Cazenovia Republican will publish a feature story about the Magees and their years of service with the Erieville Fire Department in a future issue.
