Already, there’s been some shifts in the schedules for some of Baldwinsville’s winter sports teams, for reasons both weather-related and not.
In the case of the girls Bees, a scheduling conflict moved what was set up as an early-season showdown with visiting Liverpool from last Thursday night to Jan. 24 at 6:30 at the Baker High School Gym.
But the Bees’ game at Liverpool next Friday is still set for 6:30, two days after it squares off with defending Class AA champion Cicero-North Syracuse.
As for B’ville’s boys basketball team, it got affected by the snow, as it caused a postponement of last Friday’s game with Central Square. The Bees would hope to resume action Tuesday, at Corcoran, before hosting Liverpool Friday night.
Before all that, the girls Bees extended its win streak to four games last Monday night, against Henninger, having no trouble in a 72-28 romp over the Black Knights.
Pressing from the start and creating a host of turnovers, B’ville bolted out to a 25-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. Though that pace could not be maintained, the Bees still stretched the margin to 42-14 at halftime.
Closing with a 21-5 spurt, B’ville saw Sarah Abraham hit a career-best five 3-pointers, accounting for most of her 19 points. Hope DeFazio earned 16 points, four rebounds and three steals.
Emily Pascale mixed in 10 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals. Rachael Miller protected the paint with 11 rebounds and seven blocks, adding six points as Riley Carlucci and Brittany Fabrizio also had six points.
Right after playing C-NS and Liverpool, the Bees will compete on Dec. 27-28 in the Vince Celi Memorial Tournament at East Syracuse-Minoa, with the B’ville boys part of that same event.
