An Onondaga teen was left hospitalized Monday after being struck by an SUV while driving an ATV.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies were called at around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 13 to the 3600 block of Cedervale Road, just north of Tanner Road, to investigate a crash involving a 1986 Dodge Ram Charger, driven by Rosario Laframboise, 18, of 3457 Makyes Road, and a Polaris ATV driven by his friend James Otis, 15, of 4030 Bowen Drive.
Otis was heading north on Cedarvale Road with Laframboise behind him when he lost control of his ATV, deputies said. Laframboise was unable to stop his SUV in time, and crashed into the side of Otis’s ATV.
Otis sustained multiple injuries and was airlifted by Air-1 to Upstate University Hospital where he is currently being treated for injuries that have been determined to be non-life-threatening, deputies said. Laframboise, sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital at Community General for treatment.
No tickets have been issued at this time, pending the outcome of the investigation.
