The vacant space that was created after Lillie Bean changed locations has found new inhabitants.
Over Memorial Day weekend the Republican Committee of Cazenovia moved into 82 Albany St., established the location as its headquarters and began distributing material regarding local candidates running for seats at the village, town and state levels.
“The Republican Party is aggressively supporting all of [its] candidates,” said Jim Joseph, a candidate for the Cazenovia Village Board. “We’ve kicked it up not just one, but several notches.”
Local candidates who will have informational material at the Albany Street location include: Tim Mahoney, Levi Spires, Carol Schoch, Mike Sullivan and Pat Race. Committee members meet at 7 a.m. every Tuesday morning at the headquarters to discuss current events and campaign strategies.
A meet-and-greet event is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 at the Brae Loch in Cazenovia, giving area residents the opportunity to learn more about Tim Mahoney and Jim Joseph’s platforms and ask them questions.
The committee is renting the space from Empire Management Company, and hopes to make its stay more permanent. Local supporters have already donated funds, ensuring the committee’s stay through June.
“The move to put a Republican office in Cazenovia transcends politics. It’s part of keeping Cazenovia economically vibrant. For those who wish to support this newly minted office, please send donations to: Cazenovia Republican Party, P.O. Box 79, Cazenovia, NY 13035,” Joseph said.
