The Rev. Gary Rarick has brought a Pennsylvania tradition to Plainville.
“As a volunteer firefighter in my small town [where I grew up], we had a Memorial Day Service remembering those that have passed and honoring those in the volunteer emergency service,” the pastor of Plainville Christian Church said. “I have brought that idea to Plainville.”
Now a volunteer firefighter with the Plainville Fire District serving out of Station No. 1, The Rev. Rarick is planning a Volunteer Firefighter Memorial Service to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, in the Plainville Christian Church sanctuary. He invites the community to attend and remember those who have passed and honor those volunteers currently serving our community. In addition to the ceremony, fire apparatus from the Plainville Fire Department will be on display after the worship service.
Plainville Christian Church is located on Route 370 near the “four corners” of Plainville across from Plainville Fire Station No. 1. Call 635-7438 or visit plainvilleucc.org.
