Judy Stonecipher, of Chittenango, has opened Shear Motion in Fayetteville Square. A stylist with 23 years experience managing a salon in Fayetteville, Stonecipher was pleased to be able to open her own salon in the village she’s come to love.
“I just love the community — it’s a very close knit community,” she said. “Every single person in this square has come over in the last week and welcomed us.”
She opened Shear Motion on April 9 with a staff of nine employees, all of whom she has worked with previously for five to 10 years. So the place has a family feel to it, which is furthered by Stonecipher’s daughter, Rachel, who works as the receptionist.
Stonecipher describes Shear Motion as a modern, welcoming salon that does full-service hair, including colouring, perms, cuts, treatments, sets and updos, all within a clean, warm and friendly atmosphere. The business is open seven days a week and takes appointments as well as walk-ins.
A grand opening is scheduled for May 5.
