Baldwinsville officials have approved the 2012-13 village budget totaling $4,003,082.
After continuing a public hearing at last night’s board meeting in which no comments were made either in favor or against, officials approved the budget, which is an increase of nearly $400,000 above the 2011-12 budget ($3,607,058).
The proposed tax levy (amount to be raised through property taxes) is $2,236,157 (the 2011-12 tax levy was $2,178,839) and the proposed tax rate for both Van Buren and Lysander taxpayers residing within the village is $7.09 per $1,000 in assessed value, an increase of 14 cents above the 2011-12 tax rate of $6.95. This means the owner of a home assessed at $100,000 will pay $709 in village property taxes for the year.
The budget is available on the village’s website (Baldwinsville.org) and in the clerk’s office (16 West Genesee St., Baldwinsville) for residents to review.
