Syracuse Woman Magazine held its first anniversary party at the Cafe at 407 in Liverpool on Thursday, Jan. 11. In addition to lauding the magazine, the celebration also feted cover woman Mary Ellen Clausen, who founded Ophelia’s Place, a center that raises awareness of eating disorders and body image issues.
Clausen is stepping down as executive director of the center after 10 years. She will instead focus on fundraising for the organization.
