Getting one more chance to compete in 2011, the Baldwinsville girls indoor track and team took full advantage, rising to sixth place in Wednesday’s Oscar Jensen Holiday Relays at Onondaga Community College’s SRC Arena.
Overall, the Bees picked up 38 points, comfortably in front of most of the large field, though it was Fayetteville-Manlius occupying the top spot with 70 points.
B’ville’s lone team win came in the high jump, where Emily Soeder was second among individuals, clearing 5 feet 3 inches, and, helped by Kayleigh Bates, took team honors with 9 feet 5 inches, one inch better than Cicero-North Syracuse.

B’ville only had 11 points in the boys portion of the Jensen meet, but Alec Peinkofer still won the 1,000-meter run in convincing fashion, his time of 2:35.13 more than 12 seconds clear of the field as he and Jeremiah Johnson (3:16.99) were fifth among teams.
