Six days after they were supposed to meet, the West Genesee girls track and field team finally got together with Liverpool on Monday, with Utica Proctor also part of the three-way meet. The Wildcats beat the Raiders 94-46, but lost to the Warriors 98-42. Laura Leff provided a pair of individual titles, taking the 800-meter run in 2:26.7 and running 1,500 meters in a time of 5:03.2. Leff helped Amy Hannahan, Lindsay Weaver and Emily Barrier as they claimed the 4×800 relay in 10:48.7, part of a relay sweep.
In the 4×400, WG’s quartet of Leff, Kelly Powell, Paige Copeland and Allison Iles prevailed in 4:22.3, with Barrier joining Abby Uczen, Melissa Bakowski and Emily Frazee to claim the 4×100 in 56.1 seconds. Armani Moore led Liverpool with wins in the 100-meter hurdles and long jump. The Wildcats moved on to Wednesday’s meet with Henninger, where it moved right back to the win column by beating the Black Knights 93-48. Leff moved to the 400 hurdles and prevailed in 1:11.1, also taking the 3,000-meter run (11:54.9). Weaver stepped up by winning both the 800 (2:37.6) and 1,500 (5:24.9) as Copeland took the 400 sprint in 1:05.8. Jessica Emanuelli (pole vault), Brandi Anderson (shot put), Erica Fitch (discus) and Kaitlyn Richards (high jump) all won field events. The 4×100 (55.9 seconds), 4×400 (4:21.5) and 4×800 (11:37.3) relay sweep included Richards, Leff, Copeland, Powell, Iles, Frazee, Bakowski, Uczen, Barrier, Mary McGlynn, Lauren Bryant and Alycia Andolina. As for WG’s boys team, it handled Henninger 95-33 as Matt Ulrich took first in both the 110 high hurdles (19.4 seconds) and high jump (5 feet 4 inches). Sean Howard ran the 100 in 11.2 seconds, with Luke Potash taking the 400-meter dash in 54.6 seconds. Ethan Osborne (mile), Ian Potash (400 hurdles), Matt Byrnes (800) and Adam Wierbinski (shot put) also won titles, with Jack Erhard, Matt Serrao, D.J. Campbell and Mike Lannon taking the 4×800 relay in 10:30.3. The Wildcats also claimed the 4×100 in 56.0 seconds.
