Still with a great record, and still with a high state Class D ranking, the Hamilton boys soccer tem continued to distance itself from that Sept. 25 overtime loss to Poland.
The Emerald Knights would run over Sherburne-Earlville last Tuesday, getting most of its goals early in a 6-0 romp over the Marauders.
Drew Thompson, with three assists to go with his lone goal, spread his passes around. Brandon Thomas found the net twice, while Sam Owens got one goal and one assist. Dan Kraynak and Devin Askew also scored, with Robbie Keever picking up an assist.
Morrisville-Eaton’s girls team lost, 7-1, to defending Class C champion Sauquoit Valley last Monday, the Indians keeping itself unbeaten despite Jenna Kent’s second-half goal. Kim Horton had seven saves as Elisa Marchione (three goals, one assist) and Meghan Gaffney (two goals, two assists) led Sauquoit’s effort.
This came after the Warriors’ 8-0 rout over Rome Catholic on Oct. 2, a game where Jesse Murray put up four goals and two assists. Emily Widger found the net twice as Morgan Dailey and Danielle LeBlanc added single goals. Emily Sherwood joined LeBlanc in the assist column.
The Warriors also fell to Waterville, 3-1, but at least that game was close, unlike the M-E boys suffering an 11-0 defeat to Mount Markham. Canastota also ran into the undefeated Mustangs and took a 5-0 defeat.
Hamilton’s girls team lost 6-1 to Sauquoit Valley, who remained undefeated. Jordan Peterson’s goal broke up a possible shutout as Sierra Kiss, with a three-goal hat trick, and Elisa Marchione, with two goals and one assist, led the Indians’ winning efforts.
The Emerald Knights took Waterville to overtime on Saturday, but lost a 3-1 decision. Kinzea Jones scored in regulation, and it was 1-1 before the Indians scored twice in the extra periods. Kate Buell led Waterville with two goals, negating Kelby Watkins’ 22 saves.
