The New York State Public Service Commission (NYSPSC) issued an order June 2 approving the Verizon franchise in greater Baldwinsville.
For the past year, Verizon has worked with the village of Baldwinsville and the towns of Lysander and Van Buren to establish a franchise agreement allowing the communications company to provide television service to the three municipalities.
After receiving a letter from Time Warner, which also provides television service to the area, listing concerns regarding Verizon’s contract with the three municipalities, the NYSPSC determined they were not major concerns.
“For those people that have been waiting for Verizon, it’s coming,” said Dick Clark, a village of Baldwinsville trustee.
