After months of anticipation, Syracuse Home will open its new assisted living community, McHarrie Pointe, April 5.
Offering assisted living in a beautiful, contemporary setting to residents who need support and security in their everyday lives, McHarrie Point features home-like apartments, restaurant-style dining services and a full array of activities. In addition, McHarrie Pointe also offers Sage Court, a specially designed memory care community for seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
“Our philosophy of care focuses on the individual,” said Maggie Reap, director of residential services at McHarrie Pointe. “We are proud to offer supportive and customized services with health care management that focuses on each resident’s independence and dignity.”
According to Reap, renovations were completed last July, but the opening was delayed as the facility waited for licensure from the NYS Department of Health.
A dedication ceremony was held last Thursday at the facility, located at 7740 Meigs Road in Baldwinsville. Syracuse Home Chief Executive Officer Mark Murphy, Board President Charles Calligaris and Foundation Board President David Horan presided over the dedication ceremony, which also included an official invocation of the new residence performed by Chaplain Stuart Hayes.
“You’ve turned a dream into a reality,” Horan said to donors during the dedication ceremony. “Thank you for caring.”
In addition to the dedication ceremony, a public open house of McHarrie Pointe was also held Sunday March 28.
