Chrissy Allen has earned the respect of her peers.
The Baldwinsville Police Officer was recently named the 2009 Police Officer of the Year, an honor bestowed upon her by her fellow officers.
“This award does not come from the office of the police administrator of the office of the mayor. Rather, it comes from nominations received from your peers and, for that reason, it holds a special significance,” said Baldwinsville Chief of Police Michael Lefancheck.
During the March 4 recognition at village hall, in which Allen’s family and coworkers as well as dignitaries were present, Lefancheck recited some of the comments made by Allen’s fellow officers including the following:
“[Chrissy] has emerged as one of the go to officers in the department.”
“Chrissy has become recognized in the community as an officer who is willing to help.”
“Officer Allen has shown a great deal of team work and support for any and all cases. She is the perfect example of what being a Baldwinsville Police Officer is all about.”
Highlights of Allen’s career include a forgery investigation at Syracuse Home Association and an investigation into a jewelry theft within the village.
“Both of these cases are a fine example of your tenacious investigative abilities and follow-up work,” Lefancheck said. “I would like to add my voice to those of your fellow officers in congratulating you on being the 2009 Baldwinsville Police Officer of the Year.”
