Van Buren officials have submitted the town’s 2010 application for Community Development Funds.
The total request is for $256,000 in Community Development Funds, which would pay for 75 percent of three town projects: pavement of 1.5 miles of town roads in the Seneca Knolls area ($100,000); Seneca Knolls Drainage Improvement ($100,000); and lower Seneca Knolls sewer inspection and replacement ($56,000).
Community Development Funds are grants made available through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for distribution by the county to local municipalities for local improvement projects. Should the grant(s) be approved, municipalities are responsible for funding 25 percent of the total project, which includes in-kind services, fund-raising and taxation.
The village of Baldwinsville will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Thursday March 4 regarding the village’s application for Community Development Funds, which include improvements to Mercer Park.
