Moving to 12-2 on the season, the Cazenovia girls volleyball team had little trouble with either of last week’s foes.
To start with, the Lakers hosted Phoenix last Wednesday night at Buckley Gym and put together a 25-10, 25-20, 25-17 sweep of the Firebirds.
Megan Robinson put together 20 assists and three aces, while Chelsea Lauria earned 11 assists and three kills. Up front, Alexis Markowski had a team-best seven kills, with Lizzy Reed (six kills) close behind as Sarah Race and Alex Crawford each earned four kills. Laura Gregg and Jenna Raleigh joined Lauria with three kills as Lindsay Easterly earned three aces.
Two nights later, at Hannibal, the Lakers enjoyed more success, beating the Warriors 25-12, 25-19, 25-23. Lauria, who had 14 assists, three aces and three kills, fed it to Markowski (six kills, three blocks) and Reed (five kills) as Race and Raleigh each had three kills.
Other than a Thursday-night visit from Hannibal, the Lakers (12-2) are quiet this week, knowing a big regular-season finale Feb. 4 against Skaneateles looms.
