Cazenovia College plans sixth energy symposium

Cazenovia College recently announced its sixth-annual Symposium on Energy, to be held April 16 at “The Links” in East Syracuse. Based around the theme of “The Energy Highway,” the event’s speakers will focus on efficient, secure, reliable and environmentally sensitive transmission and distribution of electricity. Dr. Rhea Jezer is chair of the event.

Many influential speakers are slated for the event, including Thomas King, President and CEO of National Grid; Richard Kessel, President and CEO of New York Power Authority; Congressman Paul Tonko; Frank Murray, President and CEO of NYSERDA; and many others.

An award will be presented to Russ Cary, supervisor of the town of Fenner.

The registration fee will be $40 including breakfast and lunch, or $20 for students and those with limited income.

The program will include optional trips to the Fenner Wind Farm, Morrisville Biodigester, Fitzpatrick Nuclear Plant, National Grid Distribution and Training Center, or to ESF to see their wood chips to ethanol process. The fee for the optional trip is $15.
