Making a strong impression on the rest of the field, the Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field team conquered more than 20 other opponents to win the CNY Indoor Track Association Christmas Relays last Saturday at Hamilton College.
Overall, the Bees had 64 points, outdistancing Tully and Jamesville-DeWitt, who tied for second with 53 points.
Four different times, B’ville prevailed, including the 55-meter dash, where Rudy Sapp won among individuals (6.80 seconds) and Todd Mitchell was fourth (7.01 seconds), for a combined 13.81 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Mitchell (second) and Sapp (fourth) returned to win again in a combined 49.77 seconds.
In the 3,200-meter run, Adam Pacheck (10:15.34) and Shaun Thompson (10:17.10) were second and third among individuals, winning in 20:32.44. Ethan Pacheck and Chris Wicks teamed up to take the 800-meter run in 4:21.63.
Brian Kane was second among individuals in the high jump, clearing 5 feet 10 inches as he and Jon Hingre (combined 11 feet 2 inches) claimed second place. B’ville was also fourth in the triple jump (71 feet 4 3/4 inches), mile (10:06.91), 600-meter run (3:12.99) and 55-meter hurdles (18.66 seconds).
