A motorcyclist was struck by a motorist exiting a driveway on Damon Road in Cazenovia last night.
The accident occurred at 6:29 p.m. May 6 when a 2002 Yamaha was struck by a Dodge Caravan operated by William S. Snyder, age 48, of Morrisville. Snyder exited a driveway into the path of the motorcycle, and the motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle, troopers said.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by the New Woodstock Fire Department and CAVAC Ambulance. He was transported by CAVAC to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, where he was pronounced deceased at 9:20 p.m.
The driver of the van was transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton for treatment of minor injuries.
Troopers are withholding the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
