Even during the so-called winter break, local girls indoor track and field teams made their way to Manley Field House for another round of post-season contests on Monday night. On the girls end, West Genesee tied for fifth in the CNY Counties League National division with 31 points. Cicero-North Syracuse won with 159 points. Katie Bott got 10 of those points when she won the 600-meter run in a time of 1:43.64, with teammate Colleen Smith (1:48.77) taking fifth place. Alex Incaudo ran to third place in the 1,500-meter run in 5:05.16 as Anna Leo finished fifth. Abby Kastick earned third place at 3,000 meters with a time of 11:20.33. Amy Hannahan ran to sixth in the 1,000-meter run in 3:24.45. In the only relay where WG placed, Smith, Hannahan, Incaudo and Bott got together in the 4×800 and finished fourth in 10:34.18. Westhill fared best among the local girls sides in the OHSL Liberty meet, with a fourth-place total of 33 points. Bishop Ludden had 19 points and Solvay got 12 points. Katie Powers (11:28.21) and Lissa DiPaola (12:02.68) got second and third, respectively, in the 3,000. Also, Powers and DiPaola teamed with Catherine Coon and Kristen Schoenborn for third in the 4×800 relay in 10:46.71. Brenna Rainone, Mackenzie Rainone, Caroline Buonocore and Briana Newman took third place in the 4×200 relay in 1:58.52. Shannon Flattery was fourth in the shot put (24 feet) as Buonocore got sixth in the long jump and Brenna Rainone took sixth in the 55-meter dash. Ludden got most of its points when Jessica Curry finished second (5:14.32) and Betsy Black took third (5:14.98) in the 1,500-meter run, while Melissa Buttner ran to fourth in the 1,000 in 3:14.93. As for Solvay, Maggie Klassen cleared 4 feet 8 inches for second place in the high jump. Jordan-Elbridge had Kim Foltz finish fifth in the 1,000 (3:23.40) and Kathryn Alonso-Bergevin finish fifth in the shot put, tossing it 22 feet 10 1/4 inches.
