The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District administration is asking for public input and ideas on how the school can assuage immenent funding cuts in the face of the economic crisis. A public forum will be held at 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 11 in the Large Group Instruction Room at the Middle School. The meeting was originally scheduled in January, but was rescheduled due to a snow day at the school. By inviting the public to express concerns and share their ideas for facing a severe budget crunch, J-E adminstration hope to be well prepared for whatever funding cuts the district may face. “When all is said and done, we will still suffer deep cuts. It seems inevitable,” said Superintendent of Schools Marilyn J. Dominick in an open letter to district residents. “The goal will be to minimize and preserve what we have. If sacrificing things like non-BOCES conferences, field trips, etc. will save a program, we may need to do that.” Dominick urged residents to share suggestions and ideas with district administration at any time and especially during the forum tonight.
