Two days after beating Fayetteville-Manlius, the Liverpool boys swim team continued its late-season roll against Baldwinsville, piling up a series of high finishes to subdue Baldwinsville in a 114-69 win over the Bees. As a starting point, Cory Spado, Joe Hens, James Walker and Paul Telesca combined to post a time of 1:46.14 in the 200 medley relay to beat B’ville (1:47.82) at the wire. Not stopping there, Telesca also won the 50 freestyle in 23.21 seconds, while Spado took the 100 butterfly in 57.30 seconds. Hens was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.09) as Tim Roche improved his diving total to 199.55 points. After Joe Lee won the 500 freestyle (5:30.64), he teamed with Telesca, Ben Hanna and Walker to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:33.92. And in a tight, fast 400 freestyle relay, Liverpool’s quartet of Lee, Spado, Hanna and Alex Perfitt completed a relay sweep by posting a time of 3:30.96 to the Bees’ 3:32.04. Liverpool (8-3, 7-0 league) spends the first week of February entangled with undefeated West Genesee — first at a Tuesday home meet, then at Camillus in the Wildcats’ invitational meet on Friday. The first match will determine who wins the CNY Counties League National division regular-season title.
