Stepping out of league play Tuesday night, the Cicero-North Syracuse ice hockey team took on Cortland/Homer and played strong defense throughout a 2-0 victory over the Eagles at the Twin Rinks. Neither side scored until the second period, when CNS went out in front, then would add an insurance goal in the third period as Zach Hall, in goal, turned away all 23 shots he faced for the shutout. Aaron Hildreth earned one CNS goal and assisted on the other, by Anthony Cirillo. Brad Monroe, Will Kaljeskie and Zach Ryan each had one assist.
