At least for a brief moment, the Cazenovia boys basketball team could bask in a win streak.
Following up on its Jan. 9 victory at Jordan-Elbridge, the Lakers came back to Buckley Gym last Tuesday night and held on to beat the Homer Trojans 52-49. It was close throughout the night, but the young Cazenovia lineup stayed cool and, in the third quarter, stretched out to a 40-34 lead. Though Homer, led by Kane Hartnett’s game-high total of 16 points, would make a late charge, the Lakers would hang on to win. Eric Janovsky, who had 10 points, led a balanced Cazenovia attack. Cullinan Williams put up nine points, while Zack Golden got six of his eight points at the free-throw line. Eric Romagnoli and Colin Hill also had eight points. Both Janovsky and Romagnoli hit on a pair of 3-pointers. Cazenovia goes for three in a row Friday night, at Solvay.
