Lisa Kelleher, of Cazenovia, formerly of Plattsburgh, N.Y., passed away March 4, 2021 after a fiercely-fought battle with leukemia. Lisa was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother, lovingly known as “Gigi.”
Lisa raised her three children to be strong, caring, compassionate individuals. She taught them to live selflessly, give to others and to love with their whole hearts.
As “Gigi”, Lisa treated her grandchildren to sleepovers, stories, trips, movie nights, plays, dance parties and special projects. She loved her grandchildren deeply and made their time together magical. She was a caring daughter, sister, and aunt as well, always available for her family and loving them unconditionally.
As “Mrs. Kelleher,” Lisa taught English at Northern Adirondack High School in Ellenburg, N.Y., for over 30 years. She consistently went above and beyond for her students and colleagues.
Pat Kelleher and Lisa were married for 38 years. They were a team, dance partners and best friends. They considered each other their “soul mates.”
While Lisa’s loss is devastating to our family, we are comforted to know she was greeted in heaven by her parents Goldie and Bud Moore; Pat’s parents Kenneth and Jean Ann Kelleher; her brothers Rob and Gary and nephew Adam.
Lisa is survived by her husband Patrick, children Kaleen (Jack) Sessler of Cazenovia, Kelsey Ramsay of Nashville, TN, Ean (Charlotte Edson) Kelleher of Brooklyn, as well as her grandchildren Hadley, Harriet, Johnny and Tallulah. Lisa also leaves siblings Cathy (Tom) Stewart of Brentwood, TN, Maryanne (Tim) Carter of Plattsburgh, John Moore of Plattsburgh; her sisters-in law, Jean Moore of Plattsburgh and Kathleen (Zach) Assael of Selkirk, N.Y., and by many nieces, nephews and their children.
At the family’s request there will be no public calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at St John’s Church, Plattsburgh.
Interment will be at a later date in the family plot at St. Alexander’s Cemetery, Morrisonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wilmot Cancer Institute-University of Rochester Medical Center.
